The timeless A-line silhouette; the dreamy, romantic silk tulle skirt and the modern edge of the fitted corset bodice--it was love at first sight! The detail of the embroidery is exquisite and the hand-beading gives it just a touch of sparkle. The gown is lined in silk and is comfortable, airy and nearly weightless.
My wedding was in August of 2013 in Napa, California. The ceremony was held outside on a grassy lawn while the reception was in a ballroom. It was a black tie wedding and this gown had the glamour and softness I was looking for.
The dress shown in Monique Lhuillier's Fall/Winter 2013 ad campaign is in the color Honey but I chose to have mine made in Ivory.
The gown was cleaned, repaired and Museum Method preserved by Heritage Garment Preservation. There were some holes in an innerlayer of the tulle skirt. Most have been repaired and are not at all visable from the outside of the gown. There is also bit of fraying/damage on the edge of the tulle but it's not noticable since there are so many layers.
